Our eco friendly philosophy
- Here at the sunset gecko.
- We are creating a simple environmentally friendly Eco system which can be practiced by anyone.
- We enjoy sharing our ideas and are eager to learn new ones so we can all live in harmony with our environment.
- Mother earth, is our home.
- We must ALL work to maintain the delicate balance for the benefit of our brothers and sisters and the Gecko’s, the ants and the kindred spirit of all human beings.
*Sunset Gecko is already practicing:
- Composting of raw garbage.
- Production of pure and natural hand made soap.
- Filtration system for recycling wastewater.
- Use of Neem oil for: extermination of mosquito/wriggler, protection against insects for flowers/plants.
- Laundry cleaning ring.
- Use of naturally decomposing detergent.
- No air conditioning (Well-ventilated accommodation and shade planting).
- Recycled water storage tank inhabited by frogs, fish, and plants (Biotope).
- Rainwater collection system.
*Systems we wish to implement in the future:
- Solar water heating made by recycled plastic beverage bottles.
- Wind-generated electricity.
- System for converting waste plastics into oil.
- Coral revitalization programs involving the local islanders.
